Xenosaga is getting off the ground
Some of you may already know me, but I’m Kingcom, the one who joined during Dragon Quest Monsters. I’ve done most of the work of our current projects, and I’m proud to announce some major progresses today!

First and foremost, Xenosaga 1&2. We now got a competent and motivated translator for it who already started his work! We’re grateful for the help, especially since it’s such a beast to translate. On the left is a first sample screen, although still without a VWF.
The game still needs a lot of programming, both assembly and for my programs, but I’m happy to work on it, seeing as it’s a fantastic remake of two fantastic games. I will try to do the best I can for this game!

Of course, that wasn’t all for today. Next is Super Robot Wars J.
First, the translation is coming along steadily. It’s now at about 24%. And then, the hacking. I did a lot of the ugly work last weekend, and the last real gameplay relevant major hack, the naming screen, is now completed! A lot of other stuff as well, but nothing to write home about. There’s a screen for this one as well.
By the way, I also welcome dds in our group!
Thanks for the Xenosaga I&II hack. I’m really looking forward to it!

First of all… Thank you guys so much! I’ve been wanting to play this game for the longest time, now I don’t feel as if my import was for waste.
Secondly, will you allow the script to be separate once finished in the end? I’d like to have the script since I own the game itself, but I wouldn’t mind playing the ROM as well, just I prefer playing the game itself via DS.
Sorry if that question was poorly worded. I’m a little tired at the moment. Once again, thank you so much! I can’t wait for it.

Do what I’m going to do, get a flash card. As soon as they announce the release of the finished rom, I’m ordering a flash cart so I can play it on DS. I imported the game and played all the way through it. I never thought I’d see an English version of it.

While a good suggestion, I’m a bit tight on money as I slapped down a pre-order on that new 80 GB PS3 model coming in on Tuesday. :/ But I do give thanks for the assistance.

I wouldn’t worry about that right now. I’ve played through the game in Japanese. There’s a TON of text and they said there is a lot of programming to do, so we’ll be lucky if it only takes a year.

Oh by the way, why not teaming-up with Jinx? He made a textual translation of the script, back then. He might help

Jinx has posted some translations of the I&II subscenarios at XenoTensei. I don’t know if she’s going to keep translating them, now that this project is going. Her translations of Truth of Xenosaga, the Episode III Perfect Guide, and Drama CD Flash movies are there too.

like the guy before me, i wonder if the project is going on since i would like to get my hand on this game too.
Just in case if the project is not going on, can you lend me any tool you created so that i can translate it myself? I know nothing about programming, but i can at least translate it if i have tools.

If we would drop any projects you’d read about it here. There are no magic translation tools that anyone can easily use. Our tools are custom made for each game and not for anyone else’s use. Besides, we don’t to have our work associated with any Babelfish translations. If you’re seriously able to translate from Japanese to English without tool help than you can always contact us about helping out on the translation front of the project.

Well, i have passed my first japanese exam at university, and if my mother language was english i would rather accept your offer, but im italian, i dont think i can really help since sometimes for me is difficoult to translate in english my toughts or find the appropriate words for a specific sentence. I was going to translate the xenosaga trilogy in italian, based on the english version published on ps2 A group of italian boys created some tools and we were working on it till they started to be lazy and left all the job to me, forcing me to quit. Anyway i suppose i will have to search online how to learn how to hack a rom and how to translate it. Good luck with your work and take all the time you need

Just wanted to say thanks for all your hard work and that I am eagerly awaiting this. I actually bought my DS after hearing about this game, so I was horribly disappointed to hear it was not coming to the US.
